Nicole V In The City: How The Train Mystifies Me Every time

The more I ride the train, the more curious I am about it.  From the people I met, to the sights and sounds.  It all has a vibe and energy to it.  

It was a perfect Summer day and I was on my way back to Chico, California from Cambria California.  The Amtrak offers such a brilliant different perspective than taking a plan or car drive to your destinations.  I almost wish I had taken a train for my work commute.  Especially in a big city like L.A.


 Being from Los Angeles, DiscoverLosAngeles I never had taken advantage of the trains that were offered for a way of commuting.  My good friend Jackie used to take the train to work, and I was always fascinated by it.  
She lived at least fifteen miles past where I lived so it made sense for her to take a train. 
Metrolinktrains was the name of the train that Jackie used to take.  She told me she would read a book or take a nap while she commuted her way into Hollywood.  I wish I would have experienced that.

I did however have an opportunity to ride the Metro with a friend of mine from Universal City which was right across the street from Universal Studios, to Hollywood to see Van Halen at the Jimmy Kimmel Live late night TV show.  I had a blast.  It took about twelve minutes to get to Hollywood and it was so convenient.  


 While traveling via train, there is always a lot to take in while you are comfortable in your seat or in this picture I was in the observation deck.  It's my favorite spot to hang out when I'm on the train.  From the snack car to the dining car, there is so much being offered.

I'm looking forward to my next adventure on the train.  This time I will be traveling with my sister.  I can't wait to share this experience with her.  She is the first family member to travel with me and I cannot think of a better person to be on the train with.  

I hope she can become just as captivated as I am when it comes to riding on trains.  I'm thinking this might be the first of many with her.

Nicole V In The City San Francisco Style

                    Nicole V In The City, San Francisco Style           My second  train ride adventure was just this past Summer in June. I decided to hop on a different train this time and take the Capitol Corridor that goes from Sacramento Valley Station to different stops on the outskirts of San Francisco California.  This specific train will take you as far as San Jose, California.  I went to Emeryville, which was about thirty minutes outside of San Francisco. to visit one of my cousins who lives right in the heart of the "foggy city."  I arrived in Emeryville, on a Friday afternoon after a three hour excursion.  I always have great moments while traveling to my destinations via train. Nicole V In The City - Union Station DTLA To Sacramento California Summer 2023
